7 Ways To Reuse My Tea Leaves

Loose Leaf Teas

In this article, we're going to share 7 ways to give the ARIEL tea leaves you love so dearly a second life!

Whether you brew our tea leaves with reusable infusers or use our pyramid teabags, all of these tips are viable. (Yes, because our tea bags are made of compostable and biodegradable materials ♥. Read more here)

1.  Natural fertilizer : When mixed with your garden or vegetable garden soil, the tea will give its nutriments to your plants and eventually decompose into the soil.

2. Repels rodents and mushrooms : By putting your tea leaves in the soil of your plants, you help prevent unwanted mushrooms and repel small rodents. These animals don't like the smell of tea!

3. Soothing and anti-inflammatory effect : This is a great trick! If you have an insect bite, for example, you can put a brewed tea bag or wet tea leaves on it. The tea will relieve the itchiness of the skin and can even reduce inflammation.

4. A good potpourri : There's nothing like a good potpourri to get rid of bad smells! Once dried, put your tea bags or leaves in a small jar and place them in your shoes, drawers or refrigerator.

5. Natural exfoliator : Did you know that most of the exfoliators you find at the drugstore are made of plastic microbeads? This is like exfoliating your skin with a petroleum component that ends up in our water. And no, it's not biodegradable. So, why not put your tea leaves in your next body wash bar?

*Tip: Tea leaves are great for exfoliating the body but would be too rough for the face and might become too abrasive.

6. Reduces the appearance of dark circles : After drinking your green tea (or black, or white), put the tea bags on your eyes. Let them cool down enough first! Then keep them on for a few minutes.

7. A tea bath : If you like to take baths, you can infuse your tea leaves in it. Imagine an Epsom salt bath with our Jasmine and Rose white tea for example! Simply use a larger tea infuser.

There you have it! Enjoy your new eco-friendly discoveries
