  • YEMEN MOCHA ISMAILI

The most prized coffee by the Yemeni people and the aficionados (passionate). Ismaili is the highest grown coffee in Yemen at about 2500 meters in Bani Ismail, in the region of Haraz.

Offers a more pungent, complex, deep and fruity taste yet brighter. These deep dark notes are highly desirable for example: sage, tobacco, leather, dry fruit, cardamom and woody notes. Its intensity will reveal itself as the aromatics unfold after it has rested for 24 hours after being roasted.

These aromatics really emerge once the coffee is ground, stronger than its actual taste, creating intoxicating aromatics giving you what we call Yemen Syndrome.

Once you drink the resulting cup, all other coffees will taste pale in comparison.

From hectare to hectare, working from one sunrise to the next, thirty families from the village of Watujaji come together in a cooperative. The name of their collective project: ‘’ Sinar Tani ’’ / ‘’ Lumière paysanne ’’.

Here, everyday life draws its inspiration from a wisdom inherited from the ancestors of a tribal culture "matrilineal", that is to say that the property belongs to women and is transmitted from mother to daughter.

On the palate, the coffee is both intense yet sweet with subtle fruity notes of plums, blueberries and spices such as pepper and curry.

  • INDIA MONSOON MALABAR

    back

This Indian coffee is unusual thanks to the special "monsoon" processing it undergoes.

In the days when merchandise was transported by sailboat, a trip to Europe could last several months, often in hot, humid weather. Thanks to the intense humidity, the beans' colour and taste transformed; the green beans turned yellow and took on a particular flavour.

Today, the "monsoon" coffee taste is re-created by spreading the beans out to dry in open-air buildings during the monsoon season.

This coffee is full-bodied, rich and smooth. Highly unique!
