In Oromo tradition, the color green symbolizes fertility, a representation of their supreme God Waqa's manifestation. Legend has it that a coffee plant emerged from the soil watered by Waqa's tears, making coffee a profoundly meaningful part of Oromo culture. Many farmers in the region make a living producing this precious crop.
